Lady Captain - Karen Sawbridge

The Ladies Section Captain this year is Kate Riley supported by her Vice Captain, Sarah Grainger and the Ladies Committee.

Kate's Charity for her year is Severn Hospice and during the year the club will be holding various fund raising events in support of this charity.

In her role as Lady Captain Kate is very keen to support the Club Initiative to develop and expand the Junior Section, under the direction of Club Professional Steve Russell and Junior Organiser Frazer Barnes. The mentoring programme is also well supported encouraging more ladies to take up golf and make the transition from the excellent Beginner Sessions run by Steve Russell, to the golf course.

Ladies Golf Academy

group ladies lessons for beginners and improvers provided by the Club Professional

lessons on Monday evenings 6 - 7.30pm during Spring and Summer costing just £5 per lesson

golf clubs can be provided for those wanting to try golf for the first time

the opportunity to meet like minded lady golfers in a friendly, fun and relaxed environment

celebrate the completion of the academy programme with social get together

you can transfer skills to the golf course using green fee vochures; no membership committment

Competitions

The Ladies hold their Competitions on Wednesday’s and at weekends with bookings being made through ClubV1 which allows you the flexibility to schedule your golf around work and family commitments. There are also many Mixed competitions for all abilities run throughout the year. For those who enjoy matchplay Bridgnorth Ladies have a number of teams for both experienced and those new to golf, and have enjoyed success in Shropshire Scratch and Handicap leagues. We also hold a number of friendly matches with other clubs giving ladies the opportunity to play other courses in a relaxed way whilst widening their circle of golfing friends.
